Joy is a courageous and compassionate coach who partners with leaders who want to bring their best to work and life. She creates a calm atmosphere where slowing down and taking time to think and process challenges is welcome and carefully balanced with respectful challenge. Her patience and insightful questions help her clients see new perspectives and try new approaches to areas where they feel stuck. She has years of experience developing leaders through experiential designs and group facilitation. Whether in a zoom room or on a travel adventure, she invites leaders to a love of learning about themselves and the unpredictable world in which they desire to make a difference. Joy is a certified leadership coach through Georgetown University and certified in the Leadership Circle Profile. She is also trained to facilitate Convu Peer Coaching Initiatives.
Joy believes transformational leadership happens in the company of others. That is why contributing to the Catalyst team at Cultivating Leadership is a perfect place for her to support a group that lives this out in the world. With experience in managing people and programs in a growing decentralized organization, Joy takes on challenges with optimism and provides support that frees everyone to focus on what they do best.
When she is not at the computer, Joy can usually be found outdoors with her husband and two young children or dabbling with craft supplies to make a linocut print, sewing or baking. While home is in Pittsburgh, PA, she and her husband and two kids periodically spend time in the French Alps, learning the language and enjoying the culture, people, food and mountains.
